Kelly's challenge this week was a back view! I really enjoyed this as it's something I've done very little of...sketching people/bodies I mean! So anyhow had to have two attempts. The first was pleasing although I had real trouble getting the top arm right. Lovely Man pointed out that I was drawing her 'straight on' but that she appeared to be at a slight angle. So sketch no.2. I feel I got the angles and the arm a bit better this time but overall I think I prefer the first one!
Sketch 1

Sketch 2
Although I'm still not sure! Comments please!
i love them both as you know, but the arm on two is better...but you might be right that the whole composition on #1 is better. now i'm getting gogolie-eyed! they are both great! lol. i still haven't started on mine...yikes!
ReplyDeleteI know me too! I was real tempted to rub out the arm on no.1 and try again! LOL!
ReplyDeleteRona, your blog is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDid you do the background design? Such a lovely design.
I like your sensitive sketch here as well.x
Hi Sylvie, Thank you! No the background is a blogger template by Tina Chen. I chose it because it sort of fitted with the arty theme. My other blog was custom made for me by Lorrie Whittington, http://www.illusiocreative.co.uk/blog/ my photos and stuff but she put it all together cos she is the brains of the outfit!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI know why Kelly posted both...I can't decide either. They're both very nice. I had trouble with the arm, too. It went on forever and was straight with very little variation. So nice to have you part of the group.
ReplyDeletehi, i dropped by from Kelly's blog. great way to practice drawing, these challenges, aren't they? you are all doing so well!
ReplyDeleteHey they are both good but I think the second has more movement. I know that sounds strange seeing as she's standing still but perhaps you know what I mean! She seems more 'rounded'.
ReplyDeleteHi Rona! I am also in Kellys challenge. Found you over there! I like both of these! And last weeks was great too!
ReplyDeleteI heard you chose this weeks pose . . . Its a bit intimidating but I am excited to get started!
Looking forward to following your posts! :)
Both are wonderful sketches but I think that overall I like sketch 1 the best.
